Why 25 MB is not really 25 MB
Encoding adds about a third
Attachments are encoded before they travel. A file that reads as 24 MB on disk can still be refused, which is why the ceiling feels arbitrary.
Their server has a say too
Even when Gmail accepts the message, the mailbox at the other end may not. Corporate filters are frequently tighter than the sender expects.
The link stays in your draft

What is the exact limit?
Google documents 25 MB for a message including its attachments. Because of encoding, the practical ceiling on the file itself is lower.
Do I need the extension?
