Reading the numbers
What the activity record can and cannot tell you
Opens and downloads are different events
Someone opening the page has seen that the files exist. Someone downloading has taken them. Chasing the first is usually premature; chasing the second is unnecessary.
Named recipients give named activity
Email delivery gives each person their own link, so the record says who. A public link cannot, because anyone holding it looks identical. Choose the mode by the question you expect to answer.
It ends when the transfer does
Activity lives with the transfer, so it is available for as long as the transfer is: seven days on Free, ninety on Plus, a year on Creator and Teams.
