Why the Outlook limit is hard to pin down
The administrator sets it
Exchange and Microsoft 365 limits are configured per organisation. Two colleagues on the same product can have different ceilings, and neither number is published anywhere they can see.
Encoding still applies
Attachments are encoded before sending, adding roughly a third. The number your file manager shows is not the number being measured.
A link is not measured at all
Pasted into the body, a FileFast link is a few dozen characters. No attachment policy on either side applies to it.
Shared mailboxes are often stricter
Distribution lists and shared mailboxes frequently carry lower limits than a personal one, which is why a message to a team address bounces when the same file reached one colleague.
Signatures and images eat the budget
A corporate signature with a logo, plus a quoted thread with earlier attachments, can consume a surprising share of the ceiling before your file is added.

The client and the server disagree about what fits
Outlook may accept the attachment and Exchange refuse it, or the other way round. That is why the same file sends from home and bounces from the office.

What is the Outlook attachment limit?
It depends on your organisation. Outlook.com allows around 20MB and Microsoft 365 defaults to about 25MB, but administrators commonly set it lower, so the figure that applies to you may be smaller.
Is there a FileFast add-in for Outlook?
Not yet. If you would use one, tell us: we would rather build it because people asked than on a hunch.
Does the recipient need Outlook?
No. The link opens in a browser whatever they use for mail.
Will the link survive a corporate mail filter?
A link is text. Filters that strip or block attachments do not apply to it, though some organisations rewrite links for scanning, which does not affect the download.
Can I send to several recipients at once?
Yes. Add recipients in FileFast and each gets the transfer, or paste one link into a message addressed to all of them.
Does the recipient need Microsoft 365?
No. The link opens in any browser regardless of their mail provider.
