How it behaves
What actually happens to the file
It uploads in parts
Large files go up in chunks. If the connection drops, the parts already sent are kept and the upload continues rather than restarting.
It is not re-encoded
What arrives is byte for byte what you sent. Video is not recompressed and images are not resized.
It expires on a schedule you set
The link stops working after the period you choose, and the file is deleted rather than left sitting.
Known threats are screened
Scanning runs before the transfer is released, so the recipient is not the one who finds out.
You can see when it lands
Ask for a notification and an email arrives when somebody downloads.
Why the link and not the attachment
A mail server decides what it will carry. A link does not.
Attachments are re-encoded, size-checked and sometimes silently dropped by whichever server is in the middle. A link is a few hundred bytes of text, so the mail carrying it always fits, and the file itself is fetched directly when the recipient asks for it.

Does the recipient need an account?
No. They open the link and download.
How long does the link work?
For the period you choose when you create the transfer. After that the file is deleted.
Can I password protect a transfer?
Yes, with a password on the transfer itself rather than on an encrypted archive.
What happens if my upload is interrupted?
The parts already uploaded are kept. Reselect the same files and it continues from where it stopped.
Is the file compressed or converted?
No. It is stored and delivered exactly as uploaded.
